Dear Student Science Research Supporter,
The application for the Intel Science Talent Search (Intel STS) 2016 is now open. Students who have completed individual, independent science research could be eligible to compete for up to $150,000 in awards!
Intel STS, a program of Society for Science & the Public, is for US students who will be in their last year of secondary school in November 2015. Students may submit individual independent research. Some past winners have completed research over several years, while others have done so in as little as six weeks.
Applicants submit their research in the form of a research report, and also submit essay questions, teacher recommendations, test scores, and transcripts. There is no limit to the number of entries from a geographic area and there are no cutoffs for test scores or GPA. Every eligible entry is reviewed by three PhD level scientists or professional engineers.
Three hundred semifinalists are chosen and awarded $1,000. Their schools also receive $1,000 for each semifinalist. Forty finalists are then selected and win an all-expenses paid trip to Washington, DC to compete for a total of $1,012,500 in awards, with three top awards of $150,000 each.
